Descrizione vino

Nobile di Montepulciano RISERVA DOCG, produced by the historical Vecchia Cantina di Montepulciano winery, is one of the best “noble” wines of Italy. If it is properly conserved it presents an excellent ageing potential.  This wine is made from Prugolo, Gentile and Canaiolo grapes. Grapes are harvested and selected and fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature of 26°-28°C for 20 days. After fermentation, the wine is refined for 30 months in small oak barrels, then it will rest for 11 months at a controlled temperature in a cellar, after being bottled.

 

Characteristics of Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva

This excellent Nobile of Montepulciano presents a deep red colour, with garnet reflections when it is aged. Austere and sapid on the mouth, with a balanced taste and a fragrance of vanilla, due to the wood. Its amazing bouquet conveys a fruity fragrance with a note of currant.

 

Recommended pairings while tasting this wine from Tuscany

It should be served in a broad and transparent crystal wine glass at a temperature of 16°-18°C. Since it is a Reserve wine, it is important to uncork the bottle and decant the wine for at least 2 hours before drinking, in order to enhance its best characteristics. It can be perfectly paired with stewed red meat, roasted or grilled meat, pasta with meat sauce and aged cheeses.
