Wine Description

This red wine from the renown Sicilian winery Donnafugata owes its name to the characteristic breeze that constantly blows over the city of Vittoria, represented on the label as a woman who looks at the horizon and seems to dance in the wind. The grapes used are 100% Nero d'Avola, grown in the vineyards located in Acate in south-eastern Sicily: the clusters benefit from a warm temperate climate mitigated by the characteristic breeze and by sandy soils with the presence of limestone. The September harvest is followed by fermentation in steel with maceration on the skins for 10 days at a temperature of 25-28 ° C; after the malolactic aging takes place in the tank for 8 months and then in the bottle for 7 months.


Characteristics of this Sicilian wine


The organoleptic exam shows a ruby red color, with olfactory notes that evoke violet and lavender, red fruits and white pepper. On the palate it is characterized by a fruity vein and a soft tannic texture.

Excellent in combination with grilled meat, cold cuts but also particularly tasty fish dishes. Serve at a temperature of 15-16 ° C in a medium-opening glass.
