Muller Thurgau " VALLE ISARCO " DOC BIO
This vine variety is the result of a joining between Riesling and Madeleine Royale, realized by the agronomist Hermann Müller in the Swiss canton of Thurgau. The grapes find their perfect habitat in the fresh climate of Isarco valley or in those lands elevated at least 700 meters on the sea level. The soil rich of pebbles, sand and schist and the micro-climate typical of the Alps, help the slow maturation of the fruits, that become more precious. For wine making Alois Lageder uses only Muller Thurgau grapes coming from selected vineyards cultivated in Isarco valley, between the cities of Bressanone and Chiusa. The soils are situated at 500 meters on the sea level and their elevation can get over 920 meters. The composition of the lands is full of pebbles, sand and schist. The age of the vineyards swings between 7-58 years old. The harvest starts on September and goes on till the first decade of October, in order to permit the correct maturation of grapes. Soft pressing and fermentation at controlled temperature in steel followed by the aging, that lasts 4 month. These are the main production processes.

The colour is light straw yellow with green reflections. The scent is rich of delicate aromas, fresh, fruity (apricot and apple) and floral, with some hints of nutmeg. The taste is structured, refined, fresh, dry. To appreciate the top evolution of the product, we should allow a further aging in the bottle of 3 years, maximum.

Perfect match with starters, vegetables, salads, freshwater fish, fried or grilled seafood or even with appetizers. It has to be served at 12° C in a high, wide wine glass.
