Inferno Valtellina Superiore "Carlo Negri" DOCG Nino Negri
The Nino Negri winery of the Valtellina produces this sensational Inferno Valtellina Superiore DOCG wine made by a blend of 95% nebbiolo-chiavennasca and 5% of other local varieties. The vineyards are cultivated with the Guyot method and the density is 3500 trees per hectare on the south terraces with sandy-lime soils at 400-450 meters. The profit is 50 quintals per hectare. The maceration takes place for 6 days. After a steel resting period the wine matures in French oak barrels of 35-52 hectoliters for 20 days.
Characteristics of the red wine Inferno Valtellina Superiore DOCG
It has a deep and satin ruby red color almost garnet and the smell has sweet spices of cinnamon and prune jam. The taste is dry, sapid and austere but also harmonic, elegant and bitter of toasted almond. The wine is long living and structured.
Suggested pairings with this Nino Negri wine
It is perfect with roasted red meats, goat, game and aged cheeses. It must be served in a Balloon wine glass at 18°C and the proof is 13.3%. If right kept it can be aged up to 7 years.
