Wine description

The prestigious rosé wine Dragone IGT is made by Magliocco, Merlot and Nerello grapes by following the ancient tradition which preview specific percentages. All the vines are cultivated at 250 meters above the sea level by following the modified Guyot cordon. The production grounds have calcareous origins mixed with clay grounds. The coat of the grounds are thin and deep which is a typical characteristic of the Calabria territories especially in the province of Reggio Calabria and at the end of Southern Apennines. In this land the Cellar Lento, works with its history and tradition which is able to pass on by its wonderful products. The grapes used for the production of the Dragone Rosato IGT are picked when they are completely ripen. It follows a soft pressing and a clearing phase which precedes the fermentation that takes place under temperature control between the 16-18°C that lasts 20 days.

 

Characteristics of this rosé wine

This great wine has a bright and compact rosé color, very clear. The scent is rich of  springy floral and fruity aromas. There are some banana and raspberry aromas. The taste is young, fresh, lively with a great structure.

 

Suggested matches while tasting this wine from Lento Winery

It is perfect with fish in humid. It is suggested the match with the paper cornet orata for what concerns the typical local dishes. It is exceptional with fish soups, fish sauces and with the caciucco. It is also good with second meal such as structured meats and also with fresh pasta with ragù.
