Descrizione vino

This is a great red sweet wine. The Brachetto is a grape variety for red wines cultivated mostly in Piedmont in the North-west of Italy. Even if it is a local grape, it comes from the French grape “Braquet” which is a very sweet grapes but for its acidity, suitable for the everyday meals. In Italy, especially in the Asti province, this grape has spread and with the time, it achieves a sweet taste which has to be matched with desserts or drunk as meditation wine. The Brachetto “Birbet” grapes of the Massucco winery produce not structured wines, very aromatic with marked flavor of strawberries. The grapes maturation takes place the half of September. There is a short period of cold maceration for the must which could be between the 36 and the 48 hours.  The peculiarity of this wine is the fermentation which is stopped when the wine is still sweet by refrigerating the wine itself. The Birbet Massucco has to be drunk when young within 2 years from the bottling to better appreciate its properties.
